Interview With Cindee: A Truly Excellent Blogger
As you may recall, recently I had the privilege of judging a writing contest for Shelly Tucker’s world renowned: This Eclectic Life blog. The rules were wide open, making it very hard to judge. They were to be stories of when you were “scared silly.” Some truly excellent and visual pieces of writing were submitted and I was very humbled to have to judge so much hard work and talent. But I did it! Cindee’s story was in the three finalists and I wanted to interview her and share her with you all!
1. Hello there! You were one of the 3 finalists in Shelly’s recent writing contest: Scared Silly. How did you get the inspiration to write your winning story?
I was inspired to write my story because I really enjoy reading Shelly’s blog. She made me feel like I could actually enter a writing contest! I have never done that before so this is a first. Shelly is so nice and a great blogger too! She is a very inspiring person.
2. Tell us about your blog: How long has it been around and what is it about?
I started my blog about a year ago because I wanted to let people know about some of the garden art I had been making. It seemed like a great place to post pictures and show people how you can make things out of ordinary things you would find at Thrift Stores, Flea Markets or Garage Sales etc. Since then I have added interesting things that have happened along the way. I love to garden and I love my family so basically anything involving those things goes in the blog!
3. So what do you do for a living, will we find any of your life in your blog?
I work at an elementary school in the kitchen. I cook and serve lunch to around 260 kids a day, grades 4through 8th! I could write a book on the things I have seen and learned in the last 14 years there! I would say that my blog does paint a picture of who I am. But of course there is always more to learn.
4. What is your philosophy on blogging?
My philosophy is to make people laugh and enjoy reading! I think if you can get people to laugh at what you write then it makes them want to come back and revisit your blog again.
5. Well thank you for talking to us today, is there anything else you’d like to add?
I would like to thank you for volunteering to judge this contest Damien. I appreciate all the time involved and the decision you make. I really enjoyed all the contestants stories and the thought and work that went into each and every one of them.
You are very welcome Cindee. I am looking forward to reading your blog more!
