5 Things Men are Ignorant About
I was thinking tonight about some things we men are truly ignorant about. I thought I’d make a list:
- bedding. We men have no clue what a good thread count is and we would probably buy flannel sheets if you sent us out for some. Ladies: make sure you do not entrust this shopping task to a man.
- matching colors. This is especially true on our kids. Wives: do not leave the picking of several clothes in an ensemble up to the husband. He can dress just fine, but will likely commit a fashion faux pas with your innocent children.
- social etiquette. Men rarely know how to send a thank you note. In fact, if it weren’t for women, these wouldn’t get sent.
- romantic movies. Men, if you must rent one of these, make sure you let her pick it. Trust me, I have tried this one and failed too many times! Oh, and if you’ve seen it already, don’t worry about it. Just watch it again and enjoy.
- extended family relations. Men have no concept of how to maintain these. If men leave it to the women, it is a better situation, plain and simple.
Obviously there are more. Perhaps you can add a few to my list.

I’m pretty easy going about the bedding and romantic movies. Whatever is usually fine for those, but why, ohhhhh, whyyyyyy can’t men match clothes? Especially for little girls? I had just had surgery once and my hubby was getting our oldest daughter ready for Kindergarten. She came down in a striped shirt and flowery pants. Hubby’s explanation was that he figured they were ok because they both had pink in them. I just don’t get this. I mean, you just look at it and can tell it doesn’t go together. Maybe it’s a woman thing, I don’t know….

Flannel sheets! I have to laugh at that as I have made that suggestion to my wife before.
This is a hilarious list and I can certainly relate with these points - I don’t know how many times my wife has stared in disbelief that I allowed the kids to leave the house in the clothes that they are wearing, lol.

I’m ignorant about romantic movies myself. Give me a action movie or a comedy anyday!
And don’t get me started on social etiquette! Once at a luncheon, I swiped the CIO’s water glass. Luckily he had swiped his neighbor’s glass, so everyone was using the wrong glass by the end of the lunch.
