8 Things About Me - A meme tag response

All Rileyed Up tagged me for a meme. At first I thought (because I have a limited knowledge of days-of-the-week memes that it would have a special alliterative name such as “Sancho Saturday,” but then I recalled hmmm this is my sister-in-law tagging me so there’s not likely to be a Sancho involved.) Anywayz, I digress . . .

Here are the rules:
-list 8 facts/habits about yourself
-post the rules at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.
-tag 8 people and post their names, go to their blogs and leave them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and ask them to read your blog.

Things About Me:

1. I am one of 4 male teachers on a staff of about 30 women. (Explains my gray)

2. I have a Master’s Degree from Cal State Fullerton with an emphasis in “Language, Writing, and Rhetoric.”

3. My favorite food has been for probably 2o years or more a 2 cheese enchilada combo plate. It feeds the soul and the stomach.

4. My wife and I (mostly my wife) are saving for and planning a short cruise to Mexico this year.

5. I don’t give a crap about my dog.

6. I met my wife on Yahoo! Personals and we got married in Vegas after dating for just 2 months.

7. I’ve touched the sticky blue matter on the Blue Man Group’s head (on an actual Blue Man).

8. I once hit a kid with a rake as a child and when asked why I did it answered “Because I didn’t like his face.” Don’t worry, I’m not like that anymore. (does that sound like a Jack Handey quote or what?)

Tagging 8 More Bloggers:

  1. [This Eclectic Life] I always tag Shelly because I know she’s got a lot to say that I enjoy reading :)
  2. [MeeAugraphie] Marcia has a great take on things. Very down to Earth.
  3. [Bakaitis.com] Mat is the man. He’s on vacation so we may not hear from him for a while unless he’s like me and he makes sure the place he is staying has Wifi.
  4. [Confessions of a Sophisticated Writer] This is the meme goddess on my blogroll, she may or may not notice this meme. I hope she does.
  5. [Courting Destiny] This writer is absolutely amazing. She may be too busy, but I hope not.
  6. [Miscellaneous Matters] A new blogger friend. i’m curious to learn more about her, so hopefully this can help that.
  7. [Parenting at hamelife] Rory: Superdad. has a lot to say . . . very cool person. Look forward to his response.
  8. [the art of getting by]Someone who’s blog I admire a bit from a distance. Very professional/personal blog, if that description exists.

  1. You don’t give a crap about your pooch? I bet it’s because of all the cr…stuff he leaves in your yard. And, you actually touched a blue man? I want to go see one of their shows, but every time they come around here I’m on the road elsewhere.
That’s a good list, and I appreciate you thinking of me, but I did that one
    One Last Mememe Meme Whew!

  2. ha ha ha. Oh yes, my dog does along with chews up anything I leave out etc. I can’t imagine life without the little thing, but at the same time . . . rrrrr.

  3. I was going to copy that one–about your dog, and the one about meeting your wife as every successful couple, that has been married in the past decade, met online

I did this one also. Appreciate you thinking of me and thanks for what you said. Made my day!

  4. I must do it, in spite of the fact I did it recently, ’cause Shelly thinks I am sucking up to you, but really ’cause it just gives me an excuse to write something off the wall. Now, quit blaming your gray on women.

Is the sticky blue matter as sticky as it looks? You did wash your hands didn’t you, you aren’t one of those groupies are you?

Me, down to earth? I’ve been told from another planet, or flighty, but never down to earth until now. Leon says that would imply a sense of normalcy - he has never heard anyone call me that either.

  5. ha ha. Not WOMEN . . . WOMEN TEACHERS!!! LOL.

  6. Thanks for the link love! I stole that meme from This Eclectic Life in June. That’s right she didn’t offer it to me I just took it, and for good reason. Mine was very deep though. You need to rummage through and search if you’re interested about me. Try “meme” as a keyword to search or as a label for other interesting facts or questions.

  7. Will do. Thanks for the response!

  8. I’m the meme goddess on your blogroll. How cool is that! Where did you come up with such a wonderful title?

Anyway, I’ve done this one before Damien but I might as well do it again. There’s always something no one knows about me ;)

  9. Oh and I’ve met my husband online too (not on Yahoo! though). Go read my list :) and thanks for the tag.

  10. I see I’m not the only one who was drawn to the “don’t give a crap about my dog” comment. That’s what happens when you are forced to reveal things randomly! I will see what I can do about answering the meme. I rarely answer them though. I’ve wrote about the subject of memes before so it’s nothing personal. You never know though. It’s always an honor to be included. Much better than the chain letter, too.:)

  11. I did it anyway! =) Come see!

  12. [...] really can’t buy this kind of publicity: Courting Destiny This writer is absolutely amazing. She may be too busy, but I hope [...]

  13. links from TechnoratiTagged byDamien(who calls me “The Meme Goddess on his blogroll”, how cool is that?) I’ve done this one before but I don’t mind doing it again :) I think by now everyone I know has done this one so I won’t post any rules and won’t tag anyone. If you haven’t done it
