Superstitious I Guess

I don’t really go in for the “what if” scenarios. My form of time travel is only forward. I love reflecting on the past and feeling the agony as well as the ecstasy but I would never wish to be someone other than I am, superstitious I guess.

Today’s Blogging Prompt: If you had the chance to be reborn, would you choose to return as your present self, or would opt for a fresh start? Tell us about what motivates your choice.

I think as we grow older we see the reason for many of our hard times. Now, if I was a starving kid selling gum in Tijuana. I certainly would change my identity. I’ve seen a lot of people in poverty in my time, it’s hellish. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. As for me though, I was born in Mission Viejo, CA and while not ever filthy rich, I have been fortunate beyond measure. Now if I had that time machine, I might be tempted to give myself advice on my music in the 20’s, to not have such a “nightingalish” croon (ugh)! What would that upset? Hindsight is 20/20 but I would not change my history, superstition is my reasoning.

  1. Me too!! Regarding “What if?” scenarios, changing the past (when you’ve been fortunate in life as we have), Back to the Future, and touching chains that I’ve been told not to touch!
