Another year ending

Posted December 31st, 2007 by Sarah

Bored out of my mind, not wanting to do the dishes, and watching the Twilight Zone Marathon (even though I have almost every episode practically memorized), I decided to write my own meme to conclude 2007. I’m not going to pressure anyone into responding with a tag, but I’d love it if you felt like playing along. Without further ado, here it is.

1. What is your happiest memory of 2007?
Adding the youngest Riley to our family. She was unexpected, but made our family complete

2. What was your worst memory of 2007?

The dumb nurses who insisted I wasn’t in labor and made me go home only to end up almost having the baby in the ambulance on the way back and never getting any pain killers as a result, grrrr.

3. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Finally reaching a point in my education where I no longer have to fall back on waitressing in times of need. Damn that feels good!

4. Did you take any memorable trips in 2007?
Two. An Anniversary Weekend away with hubby, that was everything I had hoped for, and a girls only day trip to Las Vegas.

5. What song comes to mind when you think of 2007?

Don’t Blink- Kenny Chesney. A big reminder that life is short and the kids will be grown before we know it.

6. Is there anything you are hoping to do or have in 2008 that you didn’t in 2007?

My Bachelors Degree. It has been many years in the making, so it’s hard to believe now that the goal line is right around the corner.

7. Any regrets for 2007?

Not only did I not lose weight, but I gained, ugh

8. Best purchase of 2007?

Hubby bought me a laptop after I got him one for Christmas…yeaa!

9. Favorite movie of 2007?

Dan in Real Life- Very Cute!

10. Did you pick up any new hobbies in 2007?

During my nesting phase of pregnancy I decided sewing was the solution to everything and bought my first machine. Included in my very few projects was this little dress for the toddler:

Also in August hubby convinced me to start a blog of my own hence the beginning of Party of Five.

To all of my readers I wish you a safe a fun New Year’s Eve and A Happy New Year!!

great meme! I loved hearing about your year. Wow- a new baby and finishing an educational goal? You’ve got me whipped. And I’m right with you on the weight thing. It kills me that I had finally gotten down to an acceptable weight, then I got unexpectedly pregnant. I haven’t gained, but I haven’t lost either.

It only bothers me when I have pms. I’ve learned (somewhat) to accept and let time take it’s course. As long as that course includes weight loss without any work on my part!

Amazing how much time you have to blog when you don’t have school and dh is home isn’t it :) You always amaze me with how much you accomplish, Sarah. You take on so much and always rise to any occasion. I’ve loved reading your last few blogs and I plan to steal your questions for my blog later on. HAPPY NEW YEAR! A toast to you that all your dreams come true this year!

This is a very cool meme, Sarah! I’m with Nicole…what you are accomplishing with school and a family (especially with such little ones) is amazing! I have no doubt you will be successful in your endeavors. Since it’s still New Year’s I think I’m gonna give this one a try for ya!

You’re a woman on a mission. Look out world!

What an incredible year. You should be proud of your accomplishments, and think…this is just the beginning. ;)

    Many blessings throughout 2008!

Congratulations on the latest addition to your family. Also, best wishes on obtaining your Bachelors Degree this year.

Here are my answers for the 2007 year end meme:

Happiest Memory: My first date with the new lady in my life. It was amazing to both of us how well we clicked immediately.

Worst Memory: Having a loose filling and having to spend almost 4 hours in the dentists’ chair as they prepared/inserted a temporary crown.

Biggest Achievement: Being promoted into my current position as Inventory Analyst for the company at which I am employed.

Sadly, I didn’t take any trips last year. I hope to take at least one in 2008.

Sorry, I went through my CD collection but couldn’t come up with a song that made me think of 2007.

What I hope to have/do in 2008: Start a fitness program and maintain it. Once I submit these comments, I will hit the Ab-Doer and then take a walk around my apt. complex.

    2007 regrets: see directly above.

Best Purchase of 2007: The DVD set for “Picket Fences- Season One”. In my opinion, it is one of the best TV dramas of all time!

Favorite movie of 2007: I’ll have to cheat a bit since I rarely go to the movies. The movie I choose is the 1950 film titled “Harriet Craig” starring Joan Crawford.

New hobby in 2007: That’s easy for me… blogging!

By the way, I am a huge fan of “The Twilight Zone” too! Even though I also have many of the episodes ingrained in my memory, I still catch at least a portion of the marathons that the Sci-Fi channel has every year. Last week I did a Thursday Thirteen about some of my favorite episodes. In case you would like to see my list, here is the link to the post:

Oh my sweetness!! Your little one is a doll. How precious!! I love her big bow, she is so cute. You will have to bring her to class on day to show off.
